About NASABEKA

Preserving Matigsalug's rich culture and identity

The Nasabeka group was founded as MACOEMADDACI (Matigsalug Council of Elders Marilog District), a well-organized group of the Matigsalugs committed to preserving the tribe's beautiful and rich culture and identity.

In 2017, MACOEMADDACI launched its brand logo, Nasabeka, a Matigsalug term for unity. Since then, Nasabeka has been a regular participant in Davao and Mindanao trade fairs and expos.
The Nasabeka women come together to show their talents and prove their worth, considering that women in their tribe before were not accorded any rights as their men.

Over time, the tribe started allowing women to work and earn a living for their families.
The Nasabeka women want to improve their knowledge and nurture the talents their ancestors have passed on to them through generations.
